I'm Just Sayin

Changing your format without giving users a choice is IS ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY STUPID.

I don't really look at google news any more because of the change in format, but I have to try and work with the amazon kindle changes.

I build websites for a living and one thing I always try to do is make it easy for people to use them also known as UX (user experience).

But when you change a format so drastically as to make it hard to use or remove things, in this case google news has stripped out a lot of things I liked, no more real medical info, no sidebar with interesting things like fact check, now its just a few at the bottom.

I don't know if they did this to accommodate phones/tablets or what but if so they could at least offer something different for desktop use.

Amazon Kindle has really messed up my day, instead of authors books cascading one after the other they have them as just covers next to each other and you have to click the quick look button to read the synopsis of the book.

And don't get me started on the stupid drop down for choosing to sort them according to popularity/price low-high/price high-low/avg. reviews/publication date/most reviews, I had bookmarks to them which always sorted them by publication date so the newest were always at the top now...

Even that doesn't work on most of them even when you choose it, some still put the almost oldest book near the top etc., please just give me back the old format for fucks sake you bunch of ID10Ts.
